Is it true that God’s grace covers us from every sin we’ve committed and the ones we have in view to commit?

Well, people that believe this, I wonder where they get their Bible passages from because we are to judge everything by the Word of God.

God’s Word says in Romans 6: 14- 16, 23

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I believe these Bible passages are quite explicit especially when you ask the Spirit of God to help you in understanding it. Taking scriptures out of its context does not yield understanding. Those who speak on the dispensation of grace by saying we can sin all we want for grace has covered, they have misunderstood the Word of God.

In the time of Moses, before Jesus came, people were under the law. They didn’t have much access to God individually as we do now in the dispensation of grace. Things are way easier for us in the body of Christ now than they were before Jesus came to earth.

The blood of Jesus has covered our sins of the past. This occurs once we’ve confessed and turned away from our old ways. This is all a product of the grace of God. Thinking that God’s grace will cover for a sin you have purposed in your heart to commit believing God will forgive you means that you’ve been duped by the devil.

God will never reduce His standard for any man, it’s our responsibility to aim at meeting God’s standard. It’s the grace of God that helps us meet His standard and this happens after you have turned away from sin.

When Jesus came to earth, He summarized the old law into two (Matthew 22: 37, Luke 10: 27)

  1. Love God with all your heart, all your might, and all your strength.
  2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

By obeying these laws, it will be difficult to break the laws of the 10 commandments. In essence, love becomes the basis of the commandment.

Now, if one dies for the course of Christ, gives all he has to the poor, preaches about God wherever he goes but does not obey the commandment i.e does not love God and others, this person is not a candidate for Heaven. Not loving others includes hatred, malice, backbiting, etc. So, how much more those who sin continually and believe that the grace of God will cover for it. Believers wake up, there is nothing like that.

The World is getting darker by the day and the devil is making newer strategies of getting Christians away from God. This is the time to draw closer to God, purge yourselves from anything that will make you miss Heaven.

The grace God has given us is to make obeying His will. It also makes walking in holiness easier and not quoting the scriptures wrongly thereby making it suitable to commit sin.
