When you feel all alone

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel all alone? Where the world feels dark and gloomy? Where it feels like the whole world is against and you have no one to turn to or no clue of what to do? Even the people very close to you are not there to help you, what will you do?

Some people might take the wrong path by hurting or harming themselves. But the best thing to do is to look up to Jesus, He sees you and knows exactly how you feel. No one can help you out of that situation except Him.

If that’s the case, what should I do? How do I go about it?

What should I do?

You need to come to Jesus, accept Him into your life. Jesus loves us, the Father loved us even before we knew Him. He longs to embrace you regardless of what you’ve done or how you see yourself. He thinks highly of you because He knows exactly what he has put inside you that no one else knows.

For you to know that great thing He has put in you, you’ll need to know Him and no one can come to the Father without coming to Jesus the Father’s only begotten son. Why is that?

In the Bible looking at the old testament, when people committed sin the only way their sins were washed was when an animal was sacrificed and the blood of that animal was used as an atonement. In Leviticus 17: 11 (KJV) says,

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

The New Living Translation puts it this way: “for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the LORD. It is the blood given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.”

If you go to Israel, Jerusalem, you’ll still see landmarks that point to the written things in the bible for those who don’t believe.

Medically speaking, when there is a huge loss of blood, the person is at the point of death. For example, postpartum haemorrhage is a major cause of maternal mortality. Postpartum haemorrhage simply means blood loss of 500mls or more within 24 hours after birth.

Why we have to come through Jesus

Back to the main topic, Once the blood of a person is gone, that person is gone. Sin came in through one man Adam. When God created Adam, he didn’t know sin. He communicated well with God and things were going well until the serpent deceived them. They ate the forbidden fruit which resulted in disobedience and sin.

Since then, man has been trying to appease God for every sin he commits but none was really effective not even animals. The only way things could work was if a man who is declared fit by God can undo what Adam did by carrying all the sins in the world. Now, this is where Jesus comes in. The only begotten of the Father, His own child that was with him at the beginning of creation, before the world came to being was given this task.

Jesus left His enjoyment in heaven, came to suffer torment on earth. The people He came for mocked Him, spat on Him did all manner of evil against Him and finally, He gave up the ghost. He was a lamb used as a sacrifice, His blood was used as an atonement for sins. The book of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John gives an account of Jesus’ ministry. Also, the movie The Passion of Christ sheds light on what Jesus went through.

This is the reason why you have to come through Jesus Christ because he paid all the price you were meant to pay. We can be right with God when we are in Jesus Christ. Before Jesus came, the devil was doing whatever he likes to man including death but when Jesus came, during the 3 days of his death before He rose up, He actually went to hell to take the key of death and hell that was in the devil’s hand as a result of the fall of man.

Jesus our Saviour

The good news is that Jesus has the key of death and hell. You should not be threatened by the devil or should you be afraid of death if you are a Christian. This is because the key is in loving Jesus’ hand. The devil only comes with threats, something that looks bad all he wants from you is fear. If you fall for that trap by being afraid, he’ll then be able to act but if you don’t and you have faith in God, you have given God room to act in your life so it all depends on you.

By saying you want to know God without coming through Jesus, is the wrong way. It is Jesus that gives us access to the Father and Jesus is also our Lord and Father. Looking at the book of Isaiah, Prophet Isaiah was speaking by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit even before Jesus came Isaiah 53: 5 (NIV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.

Isaiah 53: 5 (KJV): But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.

Whenever you feel all alone, sad, depressed, Jesus is there, waiting for you with his arms open to help you. Remember, “the chastisement of our peace was upon him” which means that He had no peace, and the reason for this was so that we would have peace. Jesus is our only hope.

Before He went back to heaven, He told His disciples that it was important He went so he could send the Comforter who is the Holy Ghost to be with us. For every Christian, the moment you give your life to Christ, you have the Holy Spirit with you. I’m not talking about the baptism of the Holy Ghost which is evidenced by speaking in tongues, I’m talking of the person of the Holy Ghost.

Final note

Most people don’t know that He is with them. The work of the Holy Spirit is to make life easier for you. He will lead you (so you don’t make wrong decisions), comfort you, guide you. He wants to be your friend, He wants to make you laugh. With you and the Holy Spirit being a team, you have no fear of what life throws at you. This is good news.

There was a time an incident occurred that made me feel sad, I couldn’t work that day so I had to take permission off work, all I wanted was time with the Holy Spirit then He gave me some comforting words and said that there was no reason for living work, that I could speak to Him wherever I was. Immediately, I felt much better but couldn’t go back to work because I had already taken permission off. The Spirit of God is as reals as you can ever imagine.

Finally, Jesus is your choice, accept Him today and see the difference.

God Bless you.
