There are times in our lives when we face trials, difficulties, and attacks. Sometimes we know where these attacks are coming from. It’s almost normal to pay attention to fighting these persons/ agents of darkness that we forget the source is the devil. We also sometimes forget that the strategy to overcome is not fighting back physically but spiritually because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (physical) but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Also, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6: 12-13).
Once we tackle the source which is the devil, using our spiritual weapons, every other thing that is attached to it, including the attacks and the agents we see in the physical realm, comes crashing down. It is very important we stop paying attention to the activities of these agents sent by the devil because they are usually happy when you engage them physically using words or other means. It is important to know that the enemy is an attention seeker and a time waster. Once you pay attention to him or the agent he sends your way, you end up being on the losing side.
I am actually speaking from the place of experience. There was a time in my life when I encountered a lot of opposition from various angles. The pressure was just too much and was really weighing me down. When I spent time with God, He showed me a weapon to use for this attack. The weapon of Praise. God inhabits the praises of His people and when God comes down in our praise, the enemy automatically clears out.
I decided to play anointed tapes in my place of work. Not too loud but audible. Throughout the day at work, I did this. Miraculously, with time I forgot I was under pressure. Everything began to take a different turn till I got restored. He indeed gave me a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10: 13).
This on its own is testimony but that’s not where I’m going. I kept on doing something that was not right. What was this? There was a man I worked with who was always provoking me. It felt like his coming around was to get me angry and I would always defend the truth. Little did I know that this man was actually enjoying it. Until I got good counsel to keep quiet. When I decided to obey, keep quiet, and became nonchalant about whatever he said, his reaction amazed me. He became really angry and I became really happy about this progress.
This further buttresses my point on how the enemy and his agents, those he uses love attention.
Yes, there will be attacks, and the enemy will try his luck but he will always fail because the victory has already been rigged in our favour even before we were born. Jesus has got the victory and has handed it over to those who believe in Him.
So rather than focusing on the attacks the enemy is throwing, focus on what God is doing in your life. Spend time with Him so you know what to do at each point in time and the weapon to use. When you do this, you will begin to enjoy rest on all sides. You will also be a partaker of His Word which says,” He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies”(Psalm 23: 5). This means that irrespective of the attacks/ difficulties, you keep blooming, getting bigger and shining brighter. The attack shows the world whom you serve and also brings out your star.
