Man is created by God. After God created everything and said be fruitful and multiply, God then decided to make man in His own image after His very likeness and for him to have dominion over all the earth (Gen 1: 26). This was how it all started.
The name of the first man ever created was Adam. The second was the woman called Eve. One cannot comprehend the wisdom of God, even before we existed on earth, He had already created us (Jer 1: 5). After Adam and Eve were thrown out of the garden, they gave birth to Cane and Abel, later Seth. They also had other sons and daughters resulting in the multiplication of man on earth.
During Noah’s time, a generation was swept through the flood but God used Noah’s family to replenish the earth.
About Jesus
Matthew 1: 1- 7 tells us the generation of Jesus. God revealed to David that Jesus Christ would come through His lineage ( 2 Samuel 7: 12- 13) and this was confirmed in Matthew 1: 1- 7. Jesus is the son of God. God’s plan for Jesus was to bring Man-kind back to God and establish the relationship man had with God in the days of Adam ( the first man) before he disobeyed God.
For this to take place, a sacrifice was necessary. Not just any kind of sacrifice but a human sacrifice and not just any type of human, the one that comes from God. As Adam was specially created by God, he was the very first image of God on earth and God was pleased with His creation. The human sacrifice needed to make this happen had to be the first among many others. Someone very dear and precious to the heart of God if not, it won’t be called a sacrifice.
Jesus and Adam
Someone might ask, “how is it possible for this one sacrifice ( Jesus) to restore us back to the Father? Well, I want to ask this question. How come through the sin committed by one man called Adam, everyone is being punished for it even the newborn that know nothing about what happened?
It’s just the same thing, Romans 5: 12 say;
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
I’ll divert a bit by writing about the Blood of Jesus. In the days of Moses, one could see how people brought the best animals to sacrifice to God for the atonement of sins. Even with all the sacrifices done, none could restore man back to God.
Remember when the children of Israel wanted to come out of Egypt that Pharoah’s heart was hardened. The last plague God brought to Egypt before the children of Israel were released was the plague of death. The blood was used for their protection during this time ( Exodus 12: 1- 10).
The Blood of the Lamb
One can see how God instructed Moses to tell the children of Israel to kill a Lamb according to their families, and kill the Passover and also take a bunch of hyssops, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin and strike the lintel and two side post with the blood that was in the basin. In summary, when the Angel of death came and saw the blood on the lintel and the two side post, That household was unharmed. This is in contrast to what happened in Egypt. The firstborn of every household was killed.
The only begotten of the Father, Jesus (John 3: 16) is the perfect Lamb for humanity.
Only-begotten: This means one with the same gene and DNA. This means that Jesus is also God.
You can imagine a God coming in the form of flesh ( John 1: 14) because one needs to have the flesh/ body in order to operate on earth. Not only did He come in form of flesh, But He was also sacrificed like a Lamb (this was His mission) all in the bid to brings us back to God.
More on Jesus
He (God) had to leave Heaven, come down to earth through Mary with the power of the Holy Ghost (Luke 1: 35) then ended up a living sacrifice. He is the Lamb that was slain: Revelation 5: 9, 12, 13, Isaiah 53: 7, John 1: 29, 1 Peter 1: 19.
With the Lamb restoring us back to the Father, we have been changed from the Adamic nature that was sent out of the garden of Eden to the nature of Christ. Not only that, when Jesus died and rose up, He raised us up together with Him so we could sit together with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2: 6). We are seated far above all principalities and powers and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come:
Just as the children of Israel were protected from the Angel of death through the blood of a lamb on their doorpost, we also when we engage the blood of Jesus, it does the same and even better things for us than the blood of an animal.
We are to use the blood of Jesus to overcome the devil ( Revelation 12: 11). The blood of Jesus is authentic and we can use it to overcome the devil in ANY area of our lives. This is good news.
