I am going through some trials in my life right now, it’s like a large part of me feels numb. What I really want is to have my Joy back and be happy, is this possible?

Yes, it is very possible because Jesus told us that in this world, we will have tribulation BUT we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.

Trials will come, challenges will come but it is our responsibility not to make this affect us by trusting in God. I know this might sound like the normal thing everyone says but there is a lot of truth in it.

The problem is that we carry all our burden even though Jesus has told us to cast all our cares and burdens on Him because He cares for us. He said He’s yolk is easy and His burden is light that we should take it. It won’t harm to try it.

It hasn’t dawned on people that one can be happy and retain their joy even in the midst of storms.

The first thing you need to do is to tell yourself this, “I must be happy.” Be determined to be happy, this might sound like an insignificant step but it really is a major step in getting your joy back.

The second step is to ask the Holy Spirit for the way forward, to show you what you must do in getting your joy back.

For you to be happy, you need to believe God, have faith in Him, know that He loves you and would take care of every situation that comes your way in order words, put that situation bothering you on Jesus, just hand it over to God.

Once you have done this, remove your mind completely from it.

Way forward

You can look around, think of ways you can do this like taking a breath of fresh air, thanking God for the gift of life and start living differently, you can also take a trip to places you love, sightseeing, learning something new e.g a language, an instrument etc.

Whatever you should choose should help take your mind off that concern of yours and before you know it, things will normalize.

If you don’t do this and keep pondering on the situation, this could really weigh you down and this is exactly what the devil wants, then he will start speaking to your mind, giving you ideas that will only make matters worse at the end of the day killing one’s faith, God forbid.

When we worship God in the midst of our challenges, He is well pleased. Please don’t waste time weeping over that challenge instead take that time to worship God then you’ll see how things will turn in your favour.

I would love to hear from you on how you overcame by taking these steps. God bless you.
