To focus means paying full attention to something of importance. An assignment in this sense can also mean your destiny, what you are designed for on earth.

Previously I discussed ambitions, your plans, and God’s plan for your life. I will not be dwelling much on this topic in this post. Please feel free to check Oluchicrafts blog posts for more of this.

Facts of Life

We all have one life to live. In that life, there is a purpose that needs to be fulfilled. That purpose differs from person to person. It is our responsibility to find out what that path/purpose is, receive the strategies need to ply that path and get to the end. The only way one can have access to all of these is by having a relationship with God.

One’s life can be likened to a “rented” life. Whether we like it or not, our life is not ours, it was given to us by God. Therefore we are not to go about treating our lives anyhow because, at the end of our journey in life, we will give an account of how we spent this opportunity called life that has been given to us.

Being aware that we are not to live our lives on our terms but on God’s terms, it’s important we see how to make the most of this opportunity and emerge victorious at the end of our journey.

What are these terms?

Salvation

How possible is it to communicate clearly with the one you don’t know? If you don’t know Jesus, how possible will it be for you to fulfill God’s plans for you? Salvation is the beginning of the journey and once you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you become brand new. This is like one becoming a baby but this time, in the spiritual realm which is the most important of all the realms. There is a lot of room for growth.

Relationship with God

The importance of having a relationship with God cannot be overemphasized. As much as we don’t see God physically, He is with us in every way and everything. He can use strangers, Animals, and nature to communicate with us because He is God. We are also privileged to have the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6: 19), Jesus, and God The Father (John 14:23) dwelling in us. It is God’s will that man draws close to Him.

The Spirit of God wants us to have a sweet fellowship with Man. He is with us 24/7 and ready to give us answers to our questions. This can only happen once we begin developing a relationship with God. During this time, we learn to differentiate God’s voice from that of self and the enemy.

Worldly distractions

This world has been likened to a marketplace where people buy, sell, fight, and do all manner of things. This is true because no one sleeps in the market. Once it gets dark, everyone has to go home and home differs from person to person. In the same way, when life gets dark and people have to go (leave planet earth), the destination you find yourself in and the reward you receive depends on how well you bought or sold your market during the day.

Just as we have distractions in the marketplace, (maybe you went strictly to buy foodstuffs but ended up sighting and buying a beautiful pair of shoes, from there continued to buy clothes to match) we also have distractions in life. Some of these distractions may not be bad, it could be doing the right thing at the wrong time. This is still counted as a waste of time.

Some years back, I wrote a post on Assignment. Over the years, I have added more, please check the Post page.

Focus on Your Assignment: Word of Advice

At the end of the day, you are responsible for the outcome of your life.

Focus on your assignment. That you struggling today does not mean you won’t be great tomorrow.

That someone’s assignment looks better than yours doesn’t mean their reward in eternity will be heavier than yours. God knows what He has given each and every one of us and He is the only one that will reward you.

Therefore, focus on your assignment. Rejoice with people doing great things in life (rather than trying to measure up to their standards). Do good to men, build your spiritual muscles during the days of difficulty and emerge victorious at the end of your journey. Don’t forget that having a relationship with God is key.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post.
