To Worship God does not just mean praising God and giving thanks but also your lifestyle. How you live your life says so much about the worship you give to God

Worshipping God, and giving Him thanks is not just a command but also a weapon in the kingdom of God. What do I mean?

Prayer is a spiritual weapon and one of its requirements for express answers is thanksgiving. Philippians 4: 6 (NIV) says,” Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”.

God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) and when God’s presence comes down, everlasting mountains and perpetual hills crumble (Psalm 114: 5).

This is how powerful worshipping God can be.

How can one be truly grateful to God?

Many people sing praises to God but honestly, it’s not from their hearts. Some briefly thank God for this and that but within themselves, they attribute their success to their hard work.

People don’t really understand what it means to thank God for a new day until they speak with someone about to die in the hospital.

When we make a lot of money, we believe it’s all by our labour, but the silver and gold belong to God. He is the person that made it possible for the wealth to get to you.

There are people who work so hard, even more than the wealthy but yet receive little. In other words, your effort is not necessarily proportional to the rewards you receive. What makes the difference is the blessing of God.

To be truly grateful to God, you will need to follow Him closely with your spiritual senses open so that you can recognize His hand in areas of your life.

When the Spirit of God leads you and you obey, it is easy to return the glory back to God and not yourself when you see results because it was not your idea.

More on worship to God

Looking back at previous years, I can clearly see how God favoured me in various areas. At that time, I took all these for granted until I had an experience and it felt like one was labouring under dark clouds.

People get opportunities they didn’t pray for, things move well in their favour and they think it is coincidental. There is nothing coincidental about life.

God is merciful to all mankind, He makes His sun rise on the evil and good, and sends rain to the just and the unjust (Matthew 5: 45).

That you are well and alive is worth giving God thanks but you profit more when you follow God’s leading closely. The difference is always clear and your worship to God will be from the heart, not just a formality.

When you thank or worship God from the heart, He does more.

It is important you accept Jesus into your life if you want to have a close relationship with God and let Him be your personal Lord and Saviour. If you are in this category, join me in the salvation prayer.
