The blessings of continuity.
When grass is cut, it looks beautiful and harmful creatures, e.g snakes are easily seen. One can also move freely, there is easy access.
Once the grass begins to grow, access is restricted. When it is left to grow further into a forest then it becomes a danger zone because it could be a habitat for wild beasts.
This principle of nature can be applied to other parts of our lives such as prayer, giving, career, business, relationships, etc.
The more you pray heartfelt prayers, the better results you get. A time comes when things will become so smooth and easy. People get so used to this phase because things are easy and there is peace of mind. I noticed this pattern in the Bible, especially with the Israelites in the old testament. When God gave them rest, a few years later they started to misbehave and serve other gods.
When God gives you rest/ when you see things working out the way you expected, that doesn’t mean you should stop what you did to get where you are. Rather keep going, ask for the grace to continue and wisdom to get things done in a better way. There is always a better way of doing things, we don’t know it all.
What do you need for continuity?
Time will come when we’ll begin to wonder if the process will continue forever. Thoughts like this can actually make one weary and the enemy specializes in this area. The best thing to do is to ask God for grace to continue because honestly, we can’t do it on our own. Secondly, weigh your options. Do you prefer to go backward or forward?
If you say forward, then you will need to pay the price of continuity/ diligence.
Once you stop, the enemy starts to crip in little by little causing the grasses to grow. If care is not taken, it will become a forest fit for wild beasts meaning, things people thought they had outgrown/ overcome will start creeping in.
Therefore, it is very important to ask God for grace for continuity, not just in prayer but in everything we do that is in line with the will of God.
How will you know you have received grace from God for continuity?
It becomes a delight, no longer a burden. For example, someone who doesn’t like to read but has to pass an exam that requires studying hard would require grace for an effortless result. When such a person receives grace from God, the eagerness to read will be there without stress. The same goes for every other good thing we do in order to get to the top.
It is therefore safe to say that grace is a requirement for continuity.
Finally, the reward for labour is continuity and diligence.
